Marko Habekovic, MD, is board certified in ophthalmology.

Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit.

St. Joseph Mercy Health System in Southeast Michigan

Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and
The Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit.
He has been practicing medicine since 2004. Having emigrated from Croatia as a child, Dr. Habekovic speaks fluent Croatian. He lives in Grand Rapids with his wife and two children.

Our in-office Optical Shop will interpret and fill your prescription with state-of-the-art technology using the thinnest lenses, Varilux™ digital progressives, Transition™ changeables, UV blocking, and Crizal™ antiglare to help with night vision. We also
offer prescription sunglasses that eliminate reflections from the sun.

You can choose frames from our large selection of brands:

RayBan, Coach, Maui Jim, Swarovski, Guess, Silhouette, Nine West,
Vera Bradley, Scott Harris, BCBG, Ocean Pacific, and Nicole Miller.
All our glasses have a 1 year warranty and we are able to do some repairs in the office.
The doctor will fit contact lenses and we supply all contact lens brands.

Our optician is Judy Coles who has worked with Dr. Habekovic for 13 years. Judy graduated from Ferris State University from the Opticianry program. She is certified by the American Board of Opticians, Michigan Board of Opticianry, and is a Fellow of the National Academy of Opticians. Judy has over 30 years of experience in the field. She is married to Rob and they have 4 adult children.
Types of Exams and Insurance Coverage
We participate with most major medical commercial insurance plans. In addition,
we participate with most VSP and Eyemed vision insurance plans. For particular
plan participation, please contact Habekovic Ophthalmology or your insurance
carrier for coverage information.
• For a comprehensive medical eye exam covering medical diagnoses, we will bill
your medical insurance plan.
• For a routine vision exam with eyeglass and/or contact lens prescription, we will
bill your vision insurance plan.

Please check the following with your insurance plan before your appointment:
• If Dr. Habekovic is in your insurance plan’s network.
• If your plan requires pre-authorization or a referral from your primary care provider.
• If any authorization or referral is required by your plan, it is your responsibility to
obtain this before your appointment.
